An in-can preservative

WANCIDE DH-CG is an aqueous solution micro-biocide, it is a very popular preservative for personal care cosmetics. The active ingredient provides broad-spectrum activity against common bacteria and fungi. DMDMH is approved by EPA and FDA for cosmetics and industrial applications and is highly recommended for water containing systems with pH 4-10.

Applications and Use Levels:

WANCIDE DM-CG prevents the microbial degradation of products and the resulting damages like:

- phase separation

- odor build up

- gas build up

- changes in viscosity

- build up of health threatening toxins

Application:

WANCIDE DM-CG is fast acting. The optimum pH is between 3 and 10. The compatibility with most products is excellent. We recommend to test special formulations for their compatibility. High pH (> 9) can influence the stability, especially at high temperatures above ca. 50 °C. DMDMH55 is not compatible with strong acids or oxidizing agents.

Under normal use patterns concentrations (w/w) of 0.10-0.30 % (w/w) are sufficient in most applications.

Storage conditions: Keep away from freezing, heat and direct sun. Store in original package at room temperature.
