WANCIDE F820

WANCIDE F820 imparts a durable microbial finish to textiles from cellulose fibers and their mixtures. F820 is based on the active ingredient Poly (hexamethylenebiguanide hydrochloride) and other.

Characteristics and Resistance:

Appearance: Clolorless and clear liquid

Ionicity: cationic

Solubility: readily dilutable with cold water

pH value of 20% solution: 3 to 5

compatible with cationic and non-ionic surface active sub-stances not compatible with anionic substances, e.g. optical brighteners incompatible with chlorine bleaching agents, strong alkalis and complex phosphates

Product Benefits:

The active ingredient which is also applied in agriculture and the food industry reliably inhibits the growth of odor-causing or pathogenic micro-organisms.

The active substance PHMB has a high affinity for cellulosic fibers, is durable to repeated washing

and has a low migration propensity. The antimicrobial effect is limited to the finished textile goods only.

F820 has a wide spectrum of antimicrobial activity. It is effective against many pathogenic bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, against algae and several viruses such as rota and hepatitis viruses.

Applications and Use Levels:

Application Fields

F820is applied for imparting an antimicrobial finish to textile goods from cellulose fibers and their blends, for example:

• Garment

• Bed linen, towels

• Nonwovens

• Technical textiles

• Household cloths

Guidelines for Application

F820 is applied to the textile substrate by padding as well as by the exhaust process within the pH range of 6 to 9.As a guide, the following application quantities are recommended depending on the durability effect desired:

0.5 ~4.0 % F820(based on the dry fabric weight)

The pH value is adjusted with sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) or sodium bicarbonate.

Keeping the above stated pH range is an indispensable condition for binding F 820to the cellulose fiber. The product is applied to the textile goods after pretreatment, dyeing or printing. Make sure that no residual chemicals from these processes, bleaching agents in particular, have remained on the fabric.
