WANCIDE 402F

WANCIDE 402F is a formulation of 5-Chloro-2-methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one (CIT) /

2-Methyl-2H-isothiazol-3-one (MIT) with formaldehyde. As it contains a formaldehyde releaser 402F gives also headspace protection in all types of in-can preservation.

Applications and Use Levels:

WANCIDE 402F prevents microbial deterioration of products and the resulting effects such as:

- phase separation

- odor build up

- gas build up

- changes in viscosity

- build up of health threatening toxins

Applications:

WANCIDE 402F has a rapid mode of action. The optimum pH is 3 - 10. Experience shows that compatibility with most products and raw materials is good, but we recommend testing the compatibility in individual formulations. High pH (> 9) or the presence of certain sulfur containing compounds like mercaptane or dithionite can limit the stability of CIT/MIT, especially at high temperatures above 45 °C. (Ethylenedioxy)dimethanol is incompatible with strong acids and oxidizing agents.  

Under normal use patterns concentrations (w/w) of 0.05-0.20 % are sufficient in most applications.

Storage conditions: Keep away from freezing, heat and direct sun. Store in original package at room temperature.
