WANCIDE DA 20 is a biocide that easily hydrolyses under both acidic and alkaline conditions. In water it quickly kills microorganisms and then quickly degrades to ammonia and bromine ions.DA 20 is extremely efficient against bacteria and controls planktonic and sessile organisms. At higher concentrations it is also a fungicide. Algae control is seasonal and situational. DA20 is suitable for bacterial slime cleanup where high levels of organics and biomass are present. DA 20 is a solvent-based formulation of 2,2-dibromo-3-nitrilopropionamide.

Applications and Use Levels:

WANCIDE DA 20 can be used for applications like

- water treatment

- pulp and paper

- slurry preservation

- reverse osmosis

- oil and gas

- metalworking fluids

DA 20 is also used as slime control on papermachines, and as a biocide in hydraulic fracturing wells. It is suitable for once-through cooling systems, because of its fast acting biocidal action (contact time often less than 1 hour).

DA 20 is compatible with other chemicals with the exception of mercaptobenzothiazole, ammonia or hydrogen sulfide. DBNPA should not be added in the presence of sodium bisulfite or other reducing agent residuals.

Use concentrations:

Typical use concentrations of DA 20 are in the range of 0.001-0.25 % (w/w) in the final products:

Water treatment: 0,025 – 0,1 %

Industrial Air Washer: 0,0015 – 0,1 %

Paint wash water, contaminated: 0,1 – 1 %

Mineral slurries: 0,1 – 1 %

Mineral slurries, contaminated: 0.1 – 1 %

Packaging: 25 kg, 200 kg

Shelf life: 6 months
